Doma Legislative Council Screens Councilors
Doma Local Government Legislative council has screened and confirmed three additional supervisory councilors.
The screening exercise took place at the council’s chamber at the secretariat in Doma.
Presenting a motion for the suspension of section 32 sub- section 1 and 4 of the local government law, the majority leader and councilor representing Madaki electoral ward Ibrahim Aliyu said it is to enable the council chairman appoint additional supervisory councilors.
During the screening exercise, Buggayya Idris was compelled to tender apology for the negative comment on his social media handle while Shehu Tanko Liman and Friday Timothy were asked to take bow and leave as former councilor and adviser respectively.
Seconding the motion moved by the majority leader, councilors representing Akpanaja electoral ward Adeza Peter, Galadima ward Jonah Ogah, Sarkin Dawaki ward, Muhammad Mustapha and that of Rukubi ward, Shehu Muhammad said their approval was in line with the provisions of Local the Government Law as amended.
The speaker Doma Local Government Legislative council, Albert Rabo Igbabo said the approval was to enable the council chairman Architect Ahmad Sarki Usman add more manpower to assist in the discharge of his duties.
He appreciated his colleagues for their support at all times and stressed the need for its sustenance.
