Gov Sule Meets Communities Affected by Road Construction
Governor Abdullahi Sule says his administration is determined to meet its responsibility towards ensuring the welfare of the people of Nasarawa State.
The Governor stated this during a meeting with persons from communities that would be affected by the construction of a bypass in Lafia.
Establishing the position of his administration to ensure the people of the state are catered for, Governor Abdullahi Sule intimated the communities whose farmlands and houses would be affected by the construction of the eastern bypass; that the development will see to the enhancement of socio-economic life along the axis.
The governor explained that the meeting was informed on the need to get the input of the affected persons on the level of compensation, saying his administration is poised to ensure such individuals are considered.
Urging the affected communities to cooperate with Government to ensure they are adequately compensated, Governor Sule said even as the work is to be carried out by the federal government, the state government is saddled with the responsibility of handling the compensation.
Earlier, State Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Ibrahim Mulki explained that about eighty-two point three hectares of land, economic trees and houses along the route would be affected by the construction of the bypass, hence calling on the affected persons to cooperate with the government to achieve a positive outcome.
The interactive meeting featured inputs from the Sangarin Shabu, Mahmud Bwallah and other individuals whose property would be affected by the construction of the road, urging for adequate compensation.
