Gov Sule Receives New Controller of Nigeria Correctional Service
Nasarawa State Government says it will continue to support the Correctional Service in the state for effective service delivery.
Governor Abdullahi Sule gave the assurance when the new Controller of Corrections in Nasarawa State paid him a courtesy call.
Welcoming the new Controller of Corrections, Governor Abdullahi Sule was confident in his ability to deliver the needed services.
The Governor was also optimistic about the ability of his administration to continue assisting the correctional service among other organisations to carry out their objectives.
He said the state government is ready to assist the service in having a separate place for juveniles as against having them in the same place with other adults.
Nasarawa State Controller of Corrections, Adamu Yahaya appreciated the support Governor Abdullahi Sule has been giving the organisation over the years and promised to ensure that such a relationship continues to blossom. He affirmed that the custodial centres across the state currently have over two thousand inmates with over one thousand awaiting trial, saying the alarming number of inmates portrays negative consequences, thus calling for regular visits to the custodial centres and provision of a vehicle for the conveyance of inmates to courts.
