Gov Sule Renews Commitment To Better Welfare Of Pensioners In Nasarawa State
Governor Abdullahi Sule has renewed his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of Pensioners in Nasarawa State.
The Governor made the commitment when he hosted officials of Pensioners Union on a solidarity visit at the Government House Lafia.
Saluting the courage and patience of the Pensioners in the state in the face of current economic difficulty, Governor Abdullahi Sule was emphatic on government’s commitment to continue to offer its best.
The Governor said it was due to the commitment of his administration to ensure even development across the state to ensure local governments also benefit from the state government feature despite the autonomy granted the third tier of government since June twenty-nineteen.
The assertion that every good deed deserves to be appreciated was not far from the reason that has brought members of the Nigerian Union of Pensioners who came in solidarity with Governor Abdullahi Sule over his uncommon determination to their plight, as seen in the settling of the backlog of gratuity from to the year twenty-ten.
This according to the state Chairman of Nigerian Union Pensioners, Hudu Baba Abdullahi resulted in the visit to appreciate the Governor’s people-oriented policies and programmes including the pension scheme which the members of the union are beneficiaries.
The group also harped on the need for consequential adjustments of the minimum wage to affect pensioners who retired before its implementation.
