Aren Eggon Urges Communities to Contribute Meaningfully
By Iliya Abdullahi
The Aren Eggon, retired Justice Ahmed Ubangari Alaku has called on Eggon people to contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of whichever community they find themselves.
The Paramount Ruler made the call when he received the new Hasken Obi, Mr. Elisha Ebuga Yohanna and some Eggon sons and daughters from Obi Local Government Area on a courtesy visit at his palace in Nasarawa Eggon.
Congratulating those conferred with traditional titles in Obi, the Aren Eggon, retired Justice Ahmed Ubangari Alaku, described the gesture by the Osuko of Obi Alhaji Aliyu Danguwa Ogiri Orume as a demonstration of unity and a move to cement cordial relationship among different ethnic groups in the state.
Ahmed Ubangari Alaku particularly appreciated the Osuko of Obi for identifying with Eggon people in his Chiefdom, calling on Eggon communities to reciprocate the gesture by championing the course of peace and harmonious living with their neighbours.
According to him, no development can be achieved in an atmosphere of rancor, hence the need to always pursue peace with vigour.
Earlier, the new Hasken Obi, Mr Elisha Ebuga Yohanna, Manager Distribution at the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC Lafia, said the visit was to declare their loyalty to him and inform him of the warm reception given to Eggon people in Obi by the Osuko of Obi and the people of the area.
