Nasarawa Lawmakers Demand Explanation for Selective Electricity Distribution in Toto LGA
Nasarawa State House of Assembly has insisted that the Area Manager of PowerGen Interconnected Energy Limited must appear to explain the alleged selective distribution of electricity in Toto Local Government Area.
The House took the decision when it refused to entertain the representative of the Chief Executive Officer of the company at plenary today.
When the Nasarawa State House of Assembly issued a 14 day ultimatum to Abuja Electricity Distribution Company AEDC to restore stable Electricity Supply in the State, the House also directed the Area Manager of PowerGen Interconnected Energy Limited to appear and explain the alleged selective distribution of electricity in Toto Local Government when the Local Government is not connected to the National grid.
21st May 2024 being the date for the appearance, the representative of the company, John Ufeoshi who claimed to had installed electricity in Toto local government appeared for questioning but the house was not comfortable when he tagged himself as an “errand boy” for the company and pleaded to forward critical questions to his Boss in Kenya and US.
Consequently, the house asked him to take a bow and go, insisting that Area Manager of PowerGen Interconnected Energy Limited must appear to explain the alleged selective distribution of electricity in Toto Local Government when the local government is not connected to the National grid.
