Gov. Sule’s 1 Year Anniversary Yields More Basic Amenities and Security of Lives
Provisions of basic amenities and security of lives and properties for the better wellbeing of the people is one of the primary responsibilities of Government at all levels.
This is evident since the assumption in office by Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State who’s one year in office of his second term has been a consolidation of the previous years.
In practical demonstration of its commitment to improving the general wellbeing of the people, the Nasarawa State government under the leadership of Engr. Abdullahi Sule in the last one year has continued to intervene in many critical areas of the economy through the provision of quality infrastructure across the state.
In the southern part of the state, NBS News observed that many communities have benefited from the government giant strides in the areas of provisions of potable drinking water, construction of urban and rural roads, restructuring of healthcare, educational facilities and provisions of electricity among others.
Highlighting the achievements recorded so far in the water sector in one year in office of the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule’s second term in office, the General Manager Ă‘asarawa state Water Board, Geologist Ahmed Abubakar Kana revealed that, the state government has invested hugely in the area of water supplies to people of the state where about 90 percent of the water treatment plants have been revived and connected to the National grid to supply water to many Communities in Awe, Keana, Daddere, Doma towns and some parts of Lafia the state capital.
Kana added that, the state government through the board is working out moderlities to decentralize water scheme system in the state so as to address the environmental challenges caused by the proliferation of boreholes in the state.
Also speaking, the General Manager Ă‘asarawa state Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency, Dr. Rowland Ayuba said, as an agency saddled with the responsibility of providing water facilities to the rural populace, says within the one year in office of second term of administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule, over 100 boreholes have been constructed while over 300 motorized and hand pump boreholes have been rehabilitated and upgraded across the state.
Dr. Ayuba noted that, the state government has been up to date in remitting its counterpart funds under PWASH program of ensuring water supply and hygiene at the rural communities.
When NBS News visited Daddare and some Communities in the area, it was confirmed that the Daddare water plants has been resuscitated to provide constant water supply in the community and beyond.
On the commitment of the administration to wealth creation through industrialization, Agriculture and Mining, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Public Affairs, Mr. Peter Ahemba affirmed that, the one year of second term in office, the administration is building on the successes recorded in the last four years in attracting investors into the state which is yielding positive results.
