Nasarawa State First Lady’s Generosity Shines on Children’s Day with Orphanage Donations
In continuation of activities to mark this year’s Children’s Day celebration, Nasarawa State First Lady, Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule has distributed food items to orphanages within Lafia metropolis.
She made the presentation when she led some public office holders to State orphanages in Lafia the State capital today.
The Nasarawa State first Lady Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule was accompanied by the wife of the State deputy governor, Mrs Sheila Tosan Akabe, commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Aisha Rufai Ibrahim amongst others.
Presenting food items to the officials of the, Gidan Bege, Justice Dauda memorial and Habo orphanages in Lafia, the State First Lady said the gesture was to mark this year’s Children day which is in line with her pet project foundation initiative.
Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule explained that children need all the necessary care and support especially those in orphanages hence the need to carter for their well-being both psychologically and physically.
While pledging her commitment and determination to addressing the challenges faced by children in collaboration with relevant stakeholders in the State, Silifat Sule called on authorities concerned to intensify efforts in addressing child abuse and other related issues. Caretakers of the Orphanages expressed their appreciation promising to ensure utilization of the items.
