Boot Party Adopts Consensus Approach for Nasarawa Local Government Elections
In a significant development, the Nasarawa State chapter of the Boot Party has adopted a consensus approach to select candidates for the upcoming local government elections.
This decision was reached after a peaceful meeting at the party’s secretariat in Lafia, attended by representatives from the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC) and Boot Party officials.
Suleiman Abubakar Maina, the state chairman of the Boot Party, expressed the party’s commitment to securing victory in the forthcoming elections.
He described the consensus approach as a strategic move to ensure the party is well-prepared for the elections. Maina also expressed optimism that the party will achieve success in the upcoming polls.
The Deputy Director of NASIEC, Mr. Phillip Adoga, commended the Boot Party officials for their professionalism throughout the process.
He assured the party that the commission will provide a level playing field for all parties during the elections.
This development is significant, especially considering the state’s political landscape. Nasarawa State has a history of democratic governance, with Engineer Abdullahi Sule currently serving as governor.
The state has 13 local government areas, and the upcoming elections will be crucial in shaping the state’s future.
The Boot Party’s consensus approach may set a positive tone for the elections, promoting unity and cooperation among party members.
As the elections draw near, it remains to be seen how this approach will impact the outcome.
