The Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency (NASHIA) has kicked off a two-day workshop focused on financial management for its staff, in collaboration with the Society for Education Advocacy and Research in Health and Medplus Medical and Pharmaceutical Services Limited. The event took place at the Nasarawa Luxury Hotel in Lafia.

In his address to participants, Dr. Yahaya Bawa Ubam, the Executive Secretary of NASHIA, emphasized that the training aims to enhance productivity among the agency’s workforce. He highlighted that the skills acquired during the workshop would improve their budgeting approaches, ultimately boosting the agency’s revenue.

Dr. Ubam encouraged beneficiaries of NASHIA’s services to communicate any issues directly to the agency rather than airing grievances on social media platforms.

Ezeh Uche, a Financial Management Consultant from Oxford Consulting Limited, served as the resource person for the training. He outlined the workshop’s agenda, which includes financial management principles and budgeting strategies, emphasizing their crucial role in enhancing health insurance operations in Nigeria.

Participants Jacob Kaura Makama and Hadiza Dogara expressed their appreciation for the training, stating that it significantly expanded their understanding of financial management practices.
