Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has reassured the state’s dedication to developing its agricultural sector during a visit to the government’s rice farm in Jangwa, Awe Local Government. The state’s fertile land and large agricultural population across 13 local governments and 18 development areas make it an ideal location for farming.

The governor’s efforts align with the federal government’s renewed hope food security agenda, demonstrating Nasarawa State’s commitment to revitalizing its agricultural sector. Key initiatives include:

  • Agricultural Land Allocation: 10,000 hectares of land in Jangwa and Agwatashi earmarked for agricultural purposes.
  • Farm Input Distribution: Prompt distribution of fertilizers and other essential farm inputs.
  • Crop Diversification: Plans to cultivate sesame seeds on remaining hectares.
  • Dual Season Agricultural Practices: Introducing practices to maximize yields.
