Election Peace Appeal: Nasarawa State Authorities Urge Citizens to Maintain Order During Polls
Dr. Nawani Aboki, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, has appealed to the people of Nasarawa State to conduct themselves peacefully during and after the local government elections. This call was made during a press briefing ahead of the elections, emphasizing the importance of maintaining order and decorum.
According to Dr. Aboki, the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC) has made necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth electoral process. He assured the public that the state government, led by Engineer Abdullahi Sule, prioritizes the safety of voters and has implemented adequate security measures to prevent disruptions.
Dr. Aboki described the people of Nasarawa State as peace-loving and encouraged them to exhibit high standards of behavior during the elections. He warned potential troublemakers that security agencies will take decisive action against anyone attempting to disrupt the electoral process.
Barrister Oboshi Thomas, Legal Adviser to the All Progressives Congress (APC), echoed the importance of maintaining peace for growth and development. He commended the state government’s initiative in signing a peace accord and advised voters to resist manipulation by self-serving politicians seeking to create chaos.
