State Governor Urges Caution on Mining Licenses
Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has challenged the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals Development to refrain from indiscriminately issuing mining licenses. This call was made during a visit from Federal Mines Officer, Engineer Umar Kabir.
Governor Sule emphasized the importance of the solid minerals sector to the state government, urging the State Commissioner of Environment to consider establishing a mining committee to ensure the sector’s success. He commended Kabir’s efforts to secure mining sites and the state Ministry of Environment’s work toward the upcoming National Council on Mining and Mineral Resources Development.
