Nasarawa Information Technology and Digital Economy Agency (NASITDEA) has taken significant steps to enhance access to digital services, making revenue collection easier and more efficient. This development emerged during a stakeholders’ engagement on the National Digital Economy and Governance Bill 2024, organized by the Federal Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy in collaboration with NASITDEA.

Key Objectives of the Bill:

  • Enhance Transparency: Improve accountability and openness in government institutions
  • Foster Innovation: Encourage digital solutions and entrepreneurship
  • Promote Digital Literacy: Develop essential skills for civil servants and citizens
  • Streamline Operations: Optimize government services through digitalization

The stakeholders’ engagement aimed to facilitate collaboration among government ministries, departments, agencies, and parastatals to review and refine the e-governance bill 2024. Director General Haruna Sani emphasized that the bill would advance digital literacy in the civil service if implemented effectively.

Participants, including Chairman Abel Yakubu Bala, Professor Aliyu Ishaq Shugaba, and Permanent Secretary Jafaru Yakubu, expressed optimism that the bill’s passage by the National Assembly would ensure effective service delivery. With NASITDEA’s efforts, Nasarawa State is poised to become a hub for digital growth and innovation in Nigeria.
