Honour Beyond Borders: My Journey to Excellence in China Omni-Media Journalism
According to a Chinese adage, “a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”This implies that every great accomplishment starts with a humble beginning and persistence.
The saying reflects how hard work and dedication, combined with willingness by 30 Journalists from Ten African countries to achieve their goals of capacity enhancement in the technologically driven global media training in China.
The capacity building was organised by the ministry of commerce of the peoples Republic of China and hosted by the Zheijang Normal University, Jinhua.
Great host indeed they are, taken into mind the expository lecture series by the University professors, programme managers and Coordinators, interpreters, students volunteers and the general welfare arrangements.
The two weeks intensive training fused with practical experiences, site seeing, Media engagements, cultural integration and value addition came to an exciting climax on Wednesday 13th November 2024 with colourful farewell speeches, certification of participants and eleborate photographs amidst emotional ecstasies.
Consequently, yours sincerely God’spower Ede, one of the eight participants from Nigeria got honoured with a life time fond memory certificate and award of recognition as a friend of the people’s Republic of China.
The excitement is quite euphoric and palpable, giving a sense of fulfilment as an accomplished global media practitioner.
Accordingly, as participants return to their respective home countries to implement the knowledge and insights gained, the expectations are indeed high that the systems back at home will be Liberal enough to accommodate the various recommendations in order to translate knowledge into reality for socio-economic prosperity of the African continent and Nigeria in particular.
At this point, I am obliged to express my profound appreciation to my Principal, His Excellency, Dr. Silas Ali Agara, Director General, National Directorate of Employment NDE for the life time opportunity to embark on this memorable voyage.
