Strengthening Healthcare Delivery: Nasarawa State’s IMPACT Project Gains Momentum

The Executive Secretary of the Nasarawa State Primary HealthCare Development Agency, Dr. Usman Iskilu Saleh, has urged local government authorities to support the Impact Project in their areas.

Dr. Usman Saleh made the call at a one day Local Government Stakeholders’ Engagement Meeting held at Kini Country Guest Inn, Akwanga.

NBS news gathered that The stakeholders’ engagement meeting on Impact Project contribution to Nasarawa State’s Health sector for the thirteen local government Councils’ Chairmen, Legislative Committee Chairmen on Health as well as Health Secretaries was targeted at strengthening collaboration for improved healthcare delivery.

Addressing the participants, the Executive Secretary of the Nasarawa State Primary HealthCare Development Agency, Dr. Usman Iskilu Saleh, highlighted significant improvements in grassroots healthcare service delivery, emphasizing the need for more efforts to achieve the Impact Project’s goals, particularly in rural areas.

The Project Manager of IMPACT Project in Nasarawa State, Adamu Yakubu Ohagenyi, reiterated the need for stakeholders at the grassroots to ensure that communities have easy access to healthcare services, and encouraged them to take ownership of medical facilities sited in their domains.

The Chairman of Wamba Local Government Council, Ezekiel Jagga, Deputy Chairman of Akwanga Shuaibu Basau who represented ALGON Chairman and that of Nasarawa Eggon, Alhaji Yusuf Mada promised to ensure success of the project.

Resource Persons from the agency, provided insights in to the Governor’s agenda for improving health care service delivery in the State, current health status of the State, reasons for and barriers to utilisation of primary health services, Impact Project contributions as well as 2025 plan and budget.
