Philanthropist Sponsors Free JAMB Registration for 500 Applicants in Nasarawa State
In a bid to promote education and support the less privileged, Ambassador Isaac Ali Kigbu, a philanthropist from Obi Local Government Area, is sponsoring free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registration for approximately 500 applicants from Lafia and Obi Local Government Areas. This initiative aims to provide freshly graduated secondary school students, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, with easy access to tertiary education.
The free JAMB registration is taking place at the LKC Computer Based Test (CBT) centre in Lafia, and is open to applicants from the 23 electoral wards of Lafia and Obi Local Government Areas. Ambassador Kigbu, who was represented by Aku Angbashim Randa, emphasized that this gesture is his contribution to supporting the government’s efforts in providing affordable and quality education, regardless of social status.
Ambassador Kigbu commended the Engineer Abdullahi Sule-led government for prioritizing education and urged others to support the government’s initiatives. He also promised to sustain the free JAMB registration, stating that his goal is to assist parents who struggle to sponsor their children’s education. Kigbu encouraged the beneficiaries to make the most of this opportunity.
Mohammed Momoh Gima, the Manager of LKC CBT centre, expressed his delight with the partnership, which aims to bring relief to the less privileged. Some of the beneficiaries, including Angela Igbabee and Abimiku Ezekiel Haruna, appreciated Ambassador Kigbu’s gesture and called on others to follow his example.
This initiative is a welcome development in promoting education and supporting the less privileged in Nasarawa State. It is also a testament to the impact that individual philanthropy can have on communities.
