Artisans’ Contributions to Nasarawa State’s Economy Highlighted

The Commissioner for Science, Technology, and Innovation in Nasarawa State, Gabriel Agbashi, has emphasized the significant role artisans play in driving the state’s economic growth. Agbashi made this statement during a meeting with the leadership of the Association of Nigeria Artisans and Technicians (ANAT), Nasarawa State Chapter, at his office in Lafia.
The meeting aimed to foster collaboration and discuss key demands. Top officials from the association, including representatives from Local Government Areas, attended the meeting. Agbashi commended the artisans for their vital contributions to the state’s socio-economic development, encouraging them to remain focused, united, and innovative to maximize their potential.
Agbashi revealed that the state government is working to create a more conducive environment for artisans to operate effectively. This initiative aims to enable artisans to contribute more significantly to the state’s economy. He assured the association of the government’s commitment to supporting their activities and integrating them into broader development initiatives.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Atunike Chamang, urged artisans to prioritize innovation and certification. Chamang emphasized the importance of professional accreditation in enhancing credibility and competitiveness in the modern economy.
Abdulrahman Yakubu, the State Coordinator of ANAT, expressed the association’s desire to participate in upcoming government programs. These programs aim to equip secondary school students with vocational skills. Yakubu highlighted the association’s readiness to collaborate with the government in fostering skill acquisition and youth empowerment across the state.
Yakubu also congratulated Agbashi on his appointment by Governor Abdullahi Sule, demonstrating the association’s commitment to working with the state government.
