A group of stakeholders and loyalists from the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) who were part of former President Muhammadu Buhari’s camp have reaffirmed their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. This declaration was made during a press briefing held in Abuja.

Senator Umaru Tanko Almakura, former Governor of Nasarawa State and a key figure in the CPC bloc within the All Progressives Congress (APC), addressed the press conference on behalf of the majority stakeholders. He emphasized that their purpose was to set the record straight and send a clear message to Nigerians that they remain committed, united, and loyal to the APC and President Tinubu’s agenda.

According to Almakura, recent developments had sparked speculation and misinformation about the stance of former CPC members within the APC. He recalled the CPC’s role in merging with other parties to form the APC in 2013, which led to the defeat of the then-ruling party in 2015.

The former governor highlighted the sacrifices and patriotism that guided their actions during the formation of the APC and called on fellow party members who may have grievances to seek redress within the party through dialogue. He warned against actions that could weaken the party.

Almakura praised President Tinubu for taking bold steps to restore Nigeria’s economic fortunes and assured that the former CPC stakeholders would remain steadfast, patient, and supportive of the Renewed Hope Agenda. He concluded that the group had resolved to stand firmly behind President Tinubu’s administration for a better Nigeria.
