State Government Pledges Support for Doma Institute of Leather and Science Technology

The Nasarawa State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the full takeoff of the Doma Institute for Leather and Science Technology. Governor Abdullahi Sule made this pledge when the Management of the Nigerian Institute for Leather and Science Technology paid him a courtesy visit.
During the meeting, Governor Sule welcomed the team and highlighted the alignment between the institute’s activities and the state’s focus on creating opportunities for youths to acquire skills. He expressed appreciation for the institute’s decision to establish a hub in Nasarawa State, particularly in the North Central region, and assured the team of the government’s support.
The Governor noted that the presence of the institute would further spur the state government towards effective utilization of skills acquisition centers across the state. He emphasized the importance of empowering youths with skills to drive economic growth and development.
The Director General of the Nigerian Institute for Leather and Science Technology, Doctor Awwal Mustapha Iman, commended Governor Sule for his efforts towards ensuring the effective takeoff of activities at the Doma center. He explained that the institute has 25 learning centers across the country, with the Doma center serving as the headquarters for its training programs in the North Central region.
Doctor Iman revealed that the institute is set to benefit from a World Bank-assisted program aimed at training 30,000 Nigerians. He assured that the institute is committed to innovation and would leverage the partnership with the Nasarawa State Government to achieve its objectives.
The visit was a follow-up to a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) earlier signed between the institute and the Nasarawa State Government for the establishment of a Leather skills acquisition center in the state. The partnership is expected to enhance the state’s capacity for skills development and economic growth.
With this development, the Nasarawa State Government’s commitment to empowering youths with skills and promoting economic development is set to receive a significant boost. The Doma Institute for Leather and Science Technology is poised to play a critical role in driving this initiative, and the state government’s support will be crucial to its success.
