This was disclosed by the state’s Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, when he received the Association of Beauty Queens and Kings in Nigeria at his office in Lafia.

During the meeting, Dr. Akabe emphasized the government’s commitment to collaborating with Tourism Ambassadors to explore and harness the state’s abundant tourism potentials for maximum benefit. He highlighted the administration’s efforts to make the tourism sector a major economic hub, citing the recent award of contract for the embankment of Doma dam as a step towards making it an attractive investment destination.

The Deputy Governor urged the Association to work closely with the State Ministry for Information, Culture, and Tourism to identify ways to contribute to the sector’s growth. He expressed optimism that the partnership would yield positive results and boost the state’s economy.

Ambassador Ukeme Michael, President of the Association of Beauty Queens and Kings in Nigeria, said the visit was part of activities marking World Tourism Day. He appealed to the Nasarawa State Government to support the Association in achieving its humanitarian objectives, particularly in carrying out programs that would benefit vulnerable groups in the state.

In a goodwill gesture, the Association presented a plaque to Dr. Akabe, conferring on him the title of Patriot of the Tourism Ambassadors in Nigeria. This gesture symbolizes the Association’s appreciation for the government’s willingness to collaborate and support the tourism sector.

The development is expected to boost the state’s tourism industry, creating new opportunities for economic growth and development.
