Gov Sule Hosts Traditional Council of Chiefs
Federal Government is exploring avenues through which it can develop the potential of Nasarawa State in the areas of agriculture, mining as well as oil and gas.
This came to the fore when Governor Abdullahi Sule played host to members of the Nasarawa State Traditional Council of Chiefs.
Governor Abdullahi Sule considered the visit of the royal fathers as that which has further emboldened him to continue to offer his best for the state.
The Governor said their role as custodians of the people’s culture and ensuring peace among them cannot be over-emphasized.
While assuring that his administration will continue to carry everybody along, Governor Sule equally sought the understanding of the traditional rulers towards supporting the federal government’s resolve to explore the potential in Nasarawa State.
The Chairman, Nasarawa State Traditional Council of Chiefs and Emir of Lafia, Retired Justice Sidi Bage Mohammed led the graded Chiefs on the solidarity visit.
Without mincing words, the traditional leaders were full of gratitude to God for the peace he has bestowed the people of Nasarawa State, thus wishing the Governor well as he superintends the affairs of the state.
The Chairman of the Traditional Council of Chiefs also highlighted the need for the Governor to remain committed to his ideals of entrenching peace and unity among the diverse groups in Nasarawa State.
Away from the visit by the traditional rulers, former National Chairman of the APC and first democratically elected governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Abdullahi Adamu has also led a high-powered delegation of people of Kokona Local Government to felicitate with the Governor over his recent victory in the Apex Court.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Abaga Toni, Lawrence Sylvester Ayih explained that the entire people of Kokona Local Government are in tune with Governor Sule’s aura for development as seen in the number of projects across different parts of the state, saying it serves as a mark of a government that is responsive to the plight of its people.
Lauding the people of Kokona for being indebted to his administration’s commitment to the development of Nasarawa State, Governor Abdullahi Sule appreciated them for sharing in his victory, thereby ensuring that his administration will not relent in pursuing the socio-economic needs of the people.
Even as he used the medium to congratulate Senator Abdullahi Adamu for establishing the Phoenix University Agwada, Governor Sule reiterated the need for all and sundry to always emphasize peace and unity among the people, as against dwelling on ethno-religious sentiments.
