NASIEC Postpones LG’s Election Till Further Notice
The Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission has announced the postponement of the Local Government Council election, originally scheduled for August 31, 2024, until further notice.
The Chairman of the Commission, Barrister Ayuba Usman Wandai disclosed this during a meeting with the leadership of inter-party groups.
While addressing the State leadership of the Inter-Parties Advisory Council and journalists, the Chairman of Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission, Ayuba Wandai expressed regret over any inconvenience caused by the postponement and extended his appreciation to the Inter-Parties Advisory Council for their punctuality and cooperation in addressing electoral matters.
Ayuba Wandai said the postponement of the local government elections in the state was due to unforeseen circumstances beyond their control reiterating their commitment to conducting credible elections.
Responding, the State Chairman of the Inter-Parties Advisory Council, Mr. Cletus Ogah, commended the Chairman of the Commission for maintaining transparent communication on the electoral process.
He described the postponement as a welcome development and expressed gratitude for being kept informed.
The meeting was concluded with a commitment to continue collaborating and ensuring a smooth electoral process for the benefit of all stakeholders involved.
