Gov. Sule Warns Against Misconduct as State Pilgrims Depart for Saudi Arabia.
Governor Abdullahi Sule has assured that Pilgrims from Nasarawa State will always be given the leverage to carry out their hajj exercise under a conducive atmosphere.
The Governor stated this while bidding farewell to the one thousand seven hundred and fifty intending pilgrims from Nasarawa State.
Felicitations with the intending pilgrims for making the list of those who are privileged to carry out the exercise, Governor Abdullahi Sule enjoined them to be good ambassadors of the state, even as he lauded the officials of the state pilgrims board and clerics for their inputs towards ensuring the unquestionable conduct by pilgrims.
The Governor Also appreciated the National Hajj Commission for the chance given to pilgrims from Nasarawa State to be the first state to be airlifted to the holy land, a measure he attributed to the good conduct of the pilgrims over the years and urged the intending pilgrims to sustain the tempo.
Chairman of the Nasarawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Abdullahi Gindau said one thousand seven hundred and fifty pilgrims have been screened for the journey to the holy land, as was corroborated by the Executive Secretary of the Pilgrims Board, Idris Almakura who affirmed the commitment of the board’s towards the welfare and success of the twenty twenty-four hajj exercise.
The State Chief Judge, Justice Aisha Bashir Aliyu who leads the state government’s delegation for the Hajj Exercise also warned the pilgrims against mindless spending and be of exemplary conduct.
The farewell ceremony received the blessings of the Emir of Lafia and Chairman Nasarawa State Traditional Council, Retired Justice Sidi Bage Mohammed who acknowledged the Governor for his support towards ensuring the activities of the state.
