One Thousand Victims of Rain Storm in Nasarawa State Receive Relief Material Worth Millions of Naira
One thousand victims of the rainstorm that affected some parts of Nasarawa State have received relief material worth millions of naira.
The items presented by Governor Abdullahi Sule during a symbolic distribution exercise were courtesy, the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displace Persons.
Sympathizing with the victims of the rain storm, Governor Abdullahi Sule was pleased with the assistance coming the way of the persons affected by the rainstorm, saying it is a gesture worthy of commendation.
The Governor also appreciated the renewed hope administration of President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, lauding the National Commission for Refugees, Internally Displaced Persons for new initiatives that include skills acquisition.
He commended the proactive nature of Aliyu Tijani and assured that his administration will always collaborate with his commission towards addressing the needs of persons that have been displaced due to certain reasons.
Stating that the mandate of his Commission is not unconnected with the need to assist persons of concern, the Federal Commissioner National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Person, Aliyu Ahmed Tijani said the commission is poised to assiting the affected persons having carried out an assessment of the condition of internally displaced persons in Nasarawa State.
Aliyu Tijani said the Commission is determined to make for a collaboration to providing support that cut across skills acquisition, healthcare needs, education, thereby providing solutions and exploring better ways of addressing the needs of the targetted persons.
Apart from the need for enhanced collaboration with the government of Nasarawa State, the Federal Commissioner also revealed plans to stablish skills acquisition centres in the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria
State Commissioner for Special Duties, Himanitarian Affairs and NGOs, Princess Margarate Elayo lauded the support of the Federal Commissioner to complement the state governments effort at catering for the persons affected by the rainstorm in some parts of the state.
Before the distribution of the food items and bales of cloths, the Federal Commissioner of the National Commissioner for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaces Persons, Aliyu Ahmed Tijani paid a. courtesy visit on Governor Abdullahi Sule as issues of mutual interest top discussions.
