Market Bureau Optimistic About Transforming Lafia Modern Market
The Nasarawa State Market Management Bureau has assured of adequate measures to transform the Lafia Modern Market to meet the required standards.Â
Director General of the Bureau, Ahmed Yakubu Ubangari, gave the assurance in an interview shortly after joining the state Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe to inspect some newly completed shops at the market.
According to the Director General of the Bureau, Ahmed Yakubu Ubangari, the visit to the Lafia Modern Market by the state Deputy Governor Dr. Emmanuel Akabe has further bolstered plans to ensure the market is up to standard.
He noted that the deputy governor wants traders to be taken along in the structural adjustments to be made in giving it a face lift, reiterating the bureau’s commitment to make the market conducive for trading activities.
While affirming that the deputy governor expressed satisfaction with the construction of the thirty two new shops, Ahmed Yakubu Ubangari used the medium to implore traders to be patient with the infrastructural development that is taking place at the market, saying it is being done in good faith.
Also speaking, State Chairman of Traders and Marketers Association, Alhaji Turaki Gamji commended Governor Abdullahi Sule’s visionary drive, saying his decision to allow peti traders erect shops based on regulatory standard is a good omen and assured of their corporation.
According to him, his leadership will partner with the Nasarawa State Marketing Bureau and other sister agencies in the state to ensure rapid statewide socioeconomic development of markets.
