Cleric Stresses Importance of Prayers, Warns Against Misusing Mosques
Muslims have been warned against the use of the mosque for other social activities other than prayers.This was contained in a sermon by the Nasarawa State Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ulamas, Jama’atulIzatulBid’aWa’ikamatu Sunnah, Ustaz Adam Ishaq during a Friday congregational prayer to formally launch a new mosque in Kudi station, Akwanga Local Government.
Highlighting the importance of prayers in everyday life, the cleric however admonished Muslims to desist from carrying out unassociated activities like Facebook and internet surfing inside the mosque.
According to Ustaz Adam Ishaq, there is a need for Muslims to dedicate their time to prayers and other religious activities, even as he commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for building the mosque an attribute he urged other individuals to emulate.
During the launch of the new mosque, the district head of Gudi, Yusuf Bawa together with other also clerics appreciated the gesture by Governor Abdullahi Sule, saying the new mosque will serve as a conducive place of worship for the people of Gudi and commuters plighting the Akwanga Keffi highways.
Back home in Lafia, Governor Abdullahi Sule graced the ongoing event by the ACReSALAgro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes holding at the Aliyu Akwe Doma Banquet Hall in the Government.
Welcoming the participants and delegates from all the northern states of Nigeria, Governor Sule appreciated the choice of Nasarawa State for the week-long event and pledged the state government’s commitment to the success of the programme.
