Iyimoga Calls on Communities to Embrace Peace for Sustainable Development
The Nasarawa State Government has renewed the call on communities to embrace peace for sustainable development of the state.
The State Commissioner for Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs, Muhammad Iyimoga Oyigye, renewed the call during this month’s Joint Account Allocation Committee, JAAC Meeting in Lafia.
Underscoring the role of peace and unity towards development of the State, the Commissioner for Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs, Muhammad Iyimoga Oyigye tasked communities to continue to support Governor Abdullahi Sule’s efforts in maintaining peace in the State.
Muhammad Iyimoga Oyigye said no meaningful development can be achieved in an atmosphere of rancour, hence the need for harmonious living among different ethnic groups in the state.
Muhammad Oyigye used the medium to reassure of Governor Sule’s continuous commitment to improving the welfare of local government workers in the State.
He announced that officials from National Bureau of Statistics are in the State on official assignments in Awe, Lafia, Karu and Toto Local Government Areas, calling for the support of the councils’ authorities in that regard.
Contributing, Chairman of Lafia Local Government Council who doubles as the National President of ALGON, Aminu Mu’azu Maifata promised to redouble efforts to make life more meaningful for the people at the third tier of government.
A statement by the Head, Public Relations Unit of the Ministry, Ibrahim Adamu Shigafarta, indicates that during the JAAC Meeting, Doma Local Government Council Chairman, Architect Ahmad Sarki Usman who led a Committee on the construction of one kilometre roads and installation of streetlights across the thirteen Local Government Areas, submitted the committee’s report.
