Over 10,000 Students Benefit from Nasarawa State Scholarship Program
The Executive Secretary, Nasarawa State Scholarship Board’s Hajiya Saadatu Yahaya, has emphasized the State Government’s dedication to alleviating the challenges faced by students amidst the current economic hardships gripping the nation.
Hajiya Saadatu Yahaya made these remarks during the final screening phase for over ten thousand beneficiaries of the state’s scholarship program, held at Isa Mustapha Agwai the first Polytechnic Ombi one in Lafia.
The Executive Secretary Nasarawa Scholarship Board Hajiya Sa’adatu Yahaya said the screening process, followed previous screenings in the Keffi and Akwanga zones with over ten thousand students screened and, eagerly awaiting the fund disbursement to alleviate their financial burdens.
Overseeing the screening session at the Isa Mustapha Agwai the first Polytechnic Ombi one in Lafia, Hajiya Saadatu Yahaya reiterated the administration’s commitment to enhancing the quality of education maintaining that the screening will help in identifying students who will benefit from the scholarship disbursement.
Expressing hope for an increase in the scholarship amount due to prevailing economic challenges, Hajiya Sa’adatu Yahaya voiced confidence in Governor Abdullahi Sule’s dedication to students’ welfare.
She urged students to continue supporting the government’s initiatives to foster success and cautioned against behaviors that could tarnish the reputation of Nasarawa State students. In an interview, the NASU president and some students commended the State Government for extending a lifeline to students and appealed for increased scholarship allocations, citing the prevailing hardships.
