Gunmen Strike at Mada Waterworks: Two Staff Members Killed
Two Staff of Nasarawa State Water Board have been assasinated by unknown gunmen at Mada Waterworks, Gudi Akwanga Local Government Area.
The General Manager of the Board, Geologist Kana Ahmed Abubakar disclosed this when the management visited scene of the incident, Friday. NBS report gathered that the ugly incident took place Thursday night.
Saddened by the ugly incident, the Management of Nasarawa State Water Board, immediately visited the Mada Waterworks, Gudi, Akwanga Local Government to get first hand information, revealing incessant vandalization and theft of properties including armor cables in their offices across the state.
On arrival, the Maintenance Officer, Saidu Isa took them to power generating and pumping rooms where the victims, late Danjuma Dodo Watchman and Danjuma Attah Pump Operator were attacked and killed on duty Thursday night, whereas the criminals took away armor cables.
The General Manager of the Board, Geologist Kana Ahmed Abubakar who condemned in totality the act, said the board is working proactively to safeguard lives and property of the board with fortified security measures.
The General Manager disclosed that the matter has since been reported to the Governor and relevant security agencies, vowing to apprehend the suspects to face the law.
Meantime, the management of the State Water Board alongside other members of staff, condoled with the families of late Danjuma Dodo and Danjuma Attah in Mararaba Angwan Zaria and Aricha all of Akwanga Local Government Area, where brothers of the victims, Paul Saleh Dodo and Maisamari Attah thanked the management for identifying with them at their moment of grief.
