Speaker Encourages Women in Academia to Utilize their Experiences for Societal Change
Women in the academia have been challenged to strive towards reaching the peak of their profession and use their experiences to resolve societal challenges.
Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mr Danladi Jatau, threw the challenge at the 50th birthday celebration of a senior lecturer with the state university Keffi, Dr Esther Samuel Alu.
Members of the academia, politicians, businessmen, friends and well-wishers converged on the state capital, Lafia to celebrate the 50th birthday of Dr Esther Samuel Alu, a senior lecturer with Nasarawa State University Keffi and wife of a grassroots politician late Samuel Alu.
Speakers at the event described the university Don as a sincere, principled and hardworking fellow who never allowed her widowhood undermine her struggles to attain greatness, saying her style of life is worthy of emulation.
The Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mr Danladi Jatau led members representing Lafia constituencies, Solomon Yakubu Akwashiki and Barr Esson Mairiga along with friends and relatives to celebrate Dr Esther Samuel Alu for achieving the feat.
Mr Danladi Jatau commended the senior lecturer for demonstrating resilience in her academic pursuit, and wished her more years in good health, wisdom and prosperity as she celebrates her golden jubilee.
Jatau recalled the virtues of her late husband, Samuel Alu, a onetime commissioner and a renowned politician who served the people of Nasarawa State in different capacities with much compassion and dedication, urging her to follow the footsteps of her late husband.
