Akwanga West Development Area Cracks Down on Security Concerns with Fresh Measures

Authorities in Akwanga West Development Area have taken new security measures to address the increasing security concerns in the area.

Overseer Akwanga of the Development Area Inusa Adamu Amwe stated this during a security meeting held at the Secretariat in Rinze.

Representatives from the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Army, Immigration Service, Department of State Security (DSS), Vigilante Group of Nigeria, as well as traditional and religious leaders, came together to strategize on ways to strengthen security in the area.

Expressing concern over the escalating insecurity in Nasarawa State and the nation as a whole, the Overseer, Akwanga West Development Area Inusa Adamu Amwe stressed the need to support the state government’s initiatives in addressing security challenges in Akwanga West.

Acknowledging the contributions of security agencies and local leaders in maintaining peace, the Overseer Inusa Amwe urged them to intensify their efforts in combating criminal activities, particularly as criminals exploit vulnerable situations to carry out unlawful acts.

He also called on community members, leaders, and residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities promptly.

He emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence between farmers and Fulani herders, especially during the cropping season, to prevent conflicts.Chun Ngah Alhaji Yusuf Adamu Amwe commended the initiative of the meeting, affirming their commitment to working closely with the government and security agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.

He urged the public to continue supporting government policies and encouraged mutual tolerance among community members for the overall development and prosperity of the area.
