The Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) has underscored the pivotal role of traditional and religious leaders in the execution of its projects across Nasarawa State.

This revelation was made by Hajiya Aishatu Aliyu Isoga, the State Project Coordinator for AGILE, during an ongoing state-wide awareness campaign targeting stakeholders in the Western Zone of the State.

In her outreach to the palaces of Abaga Toni, the palace of Odyong Nyankpa in Panda Development Area and Osu Agwada, the State Project Coordinator for AGILE, Hajiya Aishatu Aliyu Isoga emphasized the substantial influence that traditional and religious leaders wield in shaping community attitudes and behaviors.

Hajiya Aishatu Represented by the Head of Lead Component One Point Three, Dauda Salihu, Hajiya Isoga explained that the AGILE project is structured around three key components, tailored towards improving girls’ access to quality education, enhance their learning outcomes, and empower adolescent girls through comprehensive skills development and mentorship opportunities.

The state Coordinator of the AGILE project further urged communities in the state to boost enrollment of girls in schools saying that AGILE is dedicated to making a significant positive impact in the lives of girls in Nasarawa State.

In their separate responses, the Abaga Toni Lawrence Sylvester Ayih, the Osu Agwada Abubakar Abubakar Sadiq Kaika and the Odyon Nyankpa Barrister Joel Aninge, represented by the District Head of Kondoro, Abubakar Mohammed, expressed optimism that the AGILE’s project will greatly enhance the welfare of girls, both educationally and economically.
