Outgoing LG Boss Pinpoints Contributions of Staff to Good Governance
The outgoing chairman of Lafia Local Government, Aminu Mu’azu Maifata has highlighted the vital contributions of local government staff towards promoting good governance in the country.
The outgoing chairman of Lafia Local Government Council,Aminu Mu’azu Maifata stated this during a valedictory meeting held at the council’s secretariat in Lafia.
Addressing political officeholders, management, and staff of Lafia Local Government council Aminu Mu’azuMaifata highlighted the importance of hard work and dedication to service as essential elements to fostering good governance.
Maifata who attributed the success during his tenure to the support he received from the council staff, encouraged them to brace up to their responsibilities while supporting the incoming leadership in driving development at the grassroot.
The outgoing chairman pledged to strengthen and maintain relationships with the council, welcoming any community-driven initiative and cautioned against practices that could impede the progress of the council.
In separate remarks, the Deputy Chairman Mrs. Comfort James Attah, Secretary to the Council Mohammed Halliru Arabo, and Director of Personnel Management Abubakar Galadima commended Maifata’s hard work, humility, and dedication, adding that the council will remain indebted to him for his progressive efforts in the area.
Others who spoke at the eventlauded Aminu Mu’azu Maifata’s leadership style and vast experience, attributes which they noted were largely responsible forthe success of his tenure.
Meantime, in a major leadership transition, the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) has elected Bello Lawal from Katsina State as its new president.
