Governor Sule Urges Neutrality Among Personnel Directors Ahead of Local Government Elections in Nasarawa State

Directors of Personnel Management across the thirteen local government councils and eighteen development areas in Nasarawa State have been urged to be non partisan in the build-up to the local government elections in the state. Governor Abdullahi Sule gave the warning during a meeting with the DPMs.

Held at the instance of Governor Abdullahi Sule the meeting with the Director of Personnel Management of the thirteen local governments and eighteen development areas was a routine that usually follows the exit of elected local government Chairmen.

With the short period allotted the Director of Personnel Management to superintendent the affairs of the local government pending the election of new Local Government Chairmen, Governor Sule encouraged them to work together towards the growth of their respective local governments.

He also urged them to braise up and to address issues of security among other issues that could come up, hence they always synergise with the relevant authorities and the security outfits in that regard.

The Governor also enjoined them not to be directly involved in the local government elections.

Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftency Affairs, Mohammed Oyige Iyimoga explained that the meeting is apt especially as the DPMs have been handed over the affairs of the local government, saying it is task for them to handle the financial and other administrative task of their respective local governments and development areas with due diligence.
