Nasarawa State is set to establish its Economic Council, as announced by Governor Abdullahi Sule after signing the 2024 Local Government Law. This milestone marks a significant step towards efficient and effective operations at the local government level.

The new law abolishes the joint account system, promoting accountability and transparency in local government finances. Additionally, it provides for the establishment of Area Administrative Councils, appointed by the Governor and screened by the State Assembly, with funding from the state government.
