The thirteen newly elected chairmen of Nasarawa State have taken their oath of office, pledging to adhere strictly to the provisions of the law. Governor Abdullahi Sule administered the oath, challenging the chairmen to prioritize the service of their people.

The oath-taking ceremony was a culmination of the peaceful local government elections held on November 2 across the state. Governor Sule expressed gratitude to the people of Nasarawa for their contributions to the successful elections.

  • Commendation for Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission: Governor Sule praised the Commission for conducting the elections, aligning with his administration’s vision.
  • Charge to New Chairmen: Sule emphasized the importance of accountability, prudent resource management, and peaceful coexistence in pursuing grassroots development.
  • Call to Swear in Councillors: The Governor urged the chairmen to swear in their respective councillors, but cautioned against further appointments until they understand their local governments’ status.

Mohammed Haliru Arabo, Chairman of Lafia Local Government Council, appreciated Governor Sule, stakeholders, and the people of Nasarawa, promising to diligently carry out their tasks.

Barrister Muhammed Aliyu Ubandoma, Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State, noted that the election results and inauguration demonstrate the support enjoyed by Governor Sule and the All Progressives Congress.
