Migili Community Empowers Widows and Orphans

The Migili Cultural and Development Association (MCDA) Lafia Chapter has taken a significant step in supporting the vulnerable members of their community, particularly widows and orphans. The annual empowerment scheme, known as TOLUGBA, was held at the residence of the Traditional Leader of the Migili people in Lafia, Dr. Sunday Kyari.
During the event, the MCDA Lafia Chapter, led by Acting Chairman Mr. Samuel Agya, provided support to widows and orphans, aiming to alleviate their suffering. Mr. Agya emphasized the importance of caring for the weak and vulnerable members of society, appealing to individuals with means to contribute to their well-being.
The MCDA Chairman also called on the government to implement measures that would enable the economically vulnerable to become self-sufficient. Other notable speakers, including Retired DPM David Ajeh and Coordinator Yakubu Ajeh, advocated for policies that would bridge the gap between the haves and have-nots in society.
The women leader of the Migili Women in Lafia, Mrs. Deborah Abraham, reaffirmed the MCDA’s commitment to addressing the issues faced by widows and orphans. Beneficiaries, including Mrs. Justina Agidi and John Ayuba, expressed gratitude for the support and commended the MCDA leadership for their foresight.
This initiative demonstrates the Migili community’s dedication to supporting its most vulnerable members and promoting their economic well-being.
