Governor Abdullahi Sule Announces Expansion of Rural Road Network in Nasarawa State

Nasarawa State Government has unveiled plans to construct more rural roads in the state.

This was highlighted by Governor Abdullahi Sule as he inaugurated the fifteen-kilometer Garaku-Dari road in Kokona Local Government Area.

It is established that the road forms one of the most important infrastructures needed by the people.

This is because apart from making for ease of movement, it also fosters the socio-economic development of communities, hence the saying, development follows the road.

It is on this account that the people of Kokona local government area, especially those on the Garaku-Dari axis rolled out their drums to celebrate Governor Abdullahi Sule for meeting their age-long dream of an access road.

Inaugurating the fifteen-kilometer road, Governor Abdullahi Sule said the construction of the road among others in the state is towards addressing the challenges of the people with a bid to ensure interconnectivity across rural communities as additional rural roads have been earmarked for construction.

Emphasising the importance of decorum by community leaders and stakeholders, Governor Sule sued for restraint in the award of consent letters to miners interested in mining in their domain to avert the security challenge and consequences that might follow.

Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, represented by the Member Representing Kokona East, Daniel Ogah Ogazi, National Legal Adviser of All Progressives Congress, Professor Abdulkarim Kana, the State Commissioner of Education, John Mamman all said the construction of the road is critical towards promoting economic activities across villages and communities in the axis.

While the Chairman of Kokona Local Government Council Auwalu Adamu and the Abaga Toni, Lawrence Sylvester Ayih also showered accolades on the Governor, the Director General of Nasarawa State Bureau for Rural Development, Mustapha Yahuza Isah explained that the project which gulped over three billion naira among similar projects in other parts of the state, is a deliberate move by the present administration to meet the needs of people in the hinterland.
