World Teachers Day: Governor Sule Advocates for Honest Dialogue in Improving Nasarawa’s Education

Governor Abdullahi Sule has challenged teachers and other stakeholders in the education sector to be candid towards finding solutions to problems of education in Nasarawa State.

The Governor made this call at the celebration of this year’s World Teachers Day.

Congratulating teachers in Nasarawa State, Governor Abdullahi Sule said the the world teachers days represents a mile stone towards the appraisal as well as  identifying areas that are needed for the growth of education.

Stressing the dialogue that revolves around the development education and the impetus accorded the training of teachers by his administration, Governor Sule happed on the need for competence by the teachers.

He said the world teachers day also presupposes as situation where all stakeholders in the education sector come together to identify issues and solutions that will see to the growth of education in Nasarawa State.

State Commissioner of Education, Doctor John Mamma represented by Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Mohammed Sani Bala said the day serves as a wake up call to teachers to redefine their commitment to the delivery of quality education, saying government on its part remains resolute to the improvement of their welfare.

Nasarawa State Chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers, Comrade Ishaka Ismaila Isa said the day set aside for the celebration of teachers for their invaluable contribution to the development of mankind, remains a platform that hight their contributions in different facet of live.

He explained that as a day that also highlights the dedication of teachers to their area of endeavour, it also highlights the working conditions of teachers , thus appreciating the efforts of Governor Abdullahi Sule towards enhancing the status of teachers, even as he used the forum to call for increased funding for public education.

The theme for the twenty twenty four would teachers day is, Valuing Teachers Voice: Towards A New Social Contract For Education.
