Nigeria Immigration Service Promotes 120 Officers in Nasarawa State, Urges Intensified Immigration Monitoring

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Nasarawa State Command has promoted over 120 officers, charging them to step up efforts in monitoring immigrant activities within the state.

This development was announced during a decoration ceremony held at the Federal Secretariat in Lafia, where family, friends, and well-wishers gathered to celebrate the newly promoted officers.

State Comptroller Ubale Sekure emphasized that with promotion comes increased responsibility, urging the officers to adopt a proactive approach in fulfilling their duties.

This includes monitoring and regulating immigrant activities across the country.

Sekure commended the command’s officers and staff for their tireless efforts in maintaining immigration order in the state.

Sekure also called for public cooperation in combating illegal immigration, stressing that collaboration is crucial to enhancing the effectiveness of their operations.

Representatives from sister security agencies, including the DSS, Nigerian Correctional Service, and NSCDC, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the importance of dedication and robust collaboration in eradicating criminal elements from the state.

Deputy Comptroller Oguike Oliver Iheanacho, speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, expressed gratitude to God and the NIS for the promotion.

He pledged their continued commitment to combating illegal immigration in Nasarawa State.

This promotion and call to action are part of the NIS’s efforts to strengthen immigration management in Nasarawa State, ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.
