State Boundary Commission Gets New Leadership, Vows to Tackle Demarcation Issues
Adokwe Ladan, the newly appointed Commissioner of Boundary Commission in Nasarawa State, has pledged to implement innovative strategies to resolve persistent interstate and local government boundary demarcation issues. Ladan made this commitment while assuming leadership at the Commission’s office, acknowledging the various challenges facing the Commission.
During his address to the staff, Ladan emphasized the importance of teamwork and cooperation in overcoming these challenges. He encouraged his team to actively contribute to achieving the organization’s mission and vision, promising an open-door policy to facilitate their participation.
The Commissioner’s commitment was well-received by the Commission’s directors, including Sidi Sylvester (Research, Documentation, and Technical Services), Hajiya Hadiza Ahmed Jibrin (Administration and Supplies), and Shawulu Sale (Finance). They acknowledged Ladan’s extensive experience and expressed their commitment to supporting his vision for the Commission.
To better understand the Commission’s operations, Ladan embarked on a tour of the various offices within the Commission. This move demonstrates his hands-on approach to leadership and willingness to engage with the team.
Ladan’s appointment is part of Governor Abdullahi Sule’s efforts to strengthen the state’s executive council. The governor has sworn in 14 new commissioners and 18 special advisers, charging them to leave legacies that will stand the test of time. With Ladan at the helm, the Boundary Commission is poised to tackle the state’s demarcation challenges and promote peaceful coexistence among local governments.
