ACReSAL: A Game-Changer for Nasarawa Communities, Says Commissioner Kwanta Yakubu
A week long Agro-climatic Resilient in Sem-arid Landscape ACReSAL , World Bank implementation support mission in Nasarawa has begun with a courtesy visit to Chum Mada Samson Gamu Yare in Akwanga, Wednesday.
Delivering speech at the event, the State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Kwanta Yakubu, described ACReSAL as one of the priority projects of Governor Abdullahi Sule’s considering it’s direct impact on the lives of the people, especially those in the hinterlands. He appreciated Chum Mada Samson Gamu Yare for his unwavering support to the program resulting in it’s sound footing in the area. Saying
"His understanding of the project is marvelous, sometimes I wonder if he's a member of the project implementation team..."
Leader of the implementation support mission to the state, Dr. Joy Eganya Akanem, stated that part of their mission was to meet stakeholders in the implementation of ACReSAL Projects for successful execution.
Also speaking, the State project coordinator for ACReSAL, Dr. Napoleon Gyobe, appreciated the support being enjoyed by the project team across the state and pledged to redouble efforts for better results.
Earlier in a welcome, the Chum Mada, Samson Gamu Yare, apart from appreciating the ACReSAL team for the visit, said the project has already made remarkable record in the area in terms of stakeholders mobilization, provision of solar powered street light and boreholes among others.
Others who spoke at the event including representative of the Speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Muhammad Omadefu and ACReSAL project Coordinators from other states, commended world Bank and the Nasarawa State Government for the gesture and called for more support to the project.End
