Peace ad Unity Start with the Family, Says Rev. Joshua Tuwan
Reverend Joshua Tuwan of the Evangelical Church Winning All ECWA Good News GRA Lafia has underscored the contributions of every member of a family in promoting peace and unity in the church and the society.
The cleric stated this in a sermon to mark this year’s Family week of prayers of the church in Lafia.
The family week of prayers of ECWA Good News GRA Lafia is an annual event organized to bring family members together to remind them of their roles in championing the cause of peace and development in the church and the society, as this year ‘s event afforded various groups of the church the opportunity to present renditions to the glory of God.
Reverend Joshua Tuwan who spoke extensively on the significance of family to the betterment of the society, said every member of the family have a role to play in making sure that the society is peaceful devoid of immorality, urging them not to relent in playing their part.
Pastor Tuwan lamented that many families crumble due to the inability of each family member to play their role effectively, calling for a change of attitude for the betterment of the society.
Guest speaker at the event, Reverend Stephen Bala, who spoke on the topic “Come let’s Settle This Matter,” stressed the need for family members to always crave for God’s knowledge and understanding to have a wonderful family, and challenged them to always apply wisdom in their day to day activities.
Among worshipers during the family week of prayers of the church was the Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly Danladi Jatau who described the programme as apt, as it would go a long way in strengthening family ties.
The Church service featured special prayers for peaceful coexistence among various families of the church, the society and country at large.
