Senator Oluremi Tinubu Extends Helping Hand to Persons with Disabilities in Nasarawa State
Relief materials worth millions of Naira were distributed to persons with disability and some vulnerable members of the society in Nasarawa state.
The gesture courtesy first lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Senator Oluremi Tinibu was geared towards alleviating the plight of the masses in the country.
The relief materials presented included bags of rice, Semovita, noodles and packs of Spaghetti was part of the Social Investment Program on Food Outreach scheme for persons with Disability and the Vulnerable groups in Nasarawa state with a view to cushioning the plight of people due to removal of fuel subsidy.
The persons with Disability and vulnerable members of the society such as women and the aged were drawn from all the Thirteen local government areas of the state.
Nasarawa State first lady Hajiya Salifat Abdullahi Sule who underscored the Nigerian first lady benevolence as the right step to help alleviate the plight of the vulnerable members of the society tasked the beneficiaries to continue praying for the federal government to succeed in the great task ahead.
She commended the representative of the first lady Hajiya Khadijat Kashim Shettima for coming to identify with people of Nasarawa State.
Other dignitaries at the event including the Emir of Lafia justice Sidi Muhammad Bage retired, commissioner of women Affairs and social development Hajiya Aisha Rufai Ibrahim, head of civil service Abigail waya, all described the social intervention programs of the renewed hope initiative as apt.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to NBS News expressed gratitude to first lady Senator Oluremi Tinibu and her entourage for the kind gesture and promised to redouble efforts in supporting the ideals of the federal government towards eradicating poverty in the country.
