ACReSAL Bid Opening: Nasarawa State Government Pledges Commitment to Transparency

Nasarawa State Government has reiterated commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability in the execution of all contracts in the state.

State commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources Kwanta Yakubu, stated this during a bid opening for the supply of Agricultural input under. Agro-climatic Resilient in Semi-arid Landscape ACReSAL project at the ACReSAL office in Karu Friday.

Kwanta explained that it is in line with the procurement process that the contract was advertised on national dailies weeks ago before the bid opening after purchase and submission of the forms by interested contractors.

He commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for subjecting every contract award to the world standard and in accordance with Nasarawa State procurement law of 2020 to have value for every public money spent.

The commissioner assured the bidders of a transparent process to award whoever wins among them as he equally thanked the contractors for showing interest in the ACReSAL project.

Representatives of Nasarawa State commissioner for Agriculture and that of water resources apart from corroborating the Kwanta Yakubu’s position, pledged to work in synergy for better outcome.

Some of the bidders who spoke at the event appreciated Nasarawa State Government as well as the ACReSAL for success of the event and appealed for transparency during the bids evaluation and the selection of winners.

The bid opening was for the procurement of high breed seed, equipment, herbicide among others to be distributed to local farmers in the state as part of the World Bank assisted project mandate of aiding farmers to become resilient to climate change for better productivity.
