NSMPWB Organizes Enlightenment Workshop for Pilgrims

Intending Muslim pilgrims in Nasarawa State have been told to acquire basic knowledge of Hajj exercise.

The Executive Secretary, Nasarawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Malam Idris Ahmed Al-Makura made this known during an enlightenment exercise organized for the pilgrims.

Addressing intending pilgrims during the enlightenment exercise, the Executive Secretary, Nasarawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Malam Idris Ahmed Al-Makura, stressed the need for them to always avail themselves during the exercise adding that it would assist them in learning the basics of the Hajj exercise.

According to Idris, the Hajj exercise, as the fourth pillar of Islam, must be observed in accordance with the teachings of the religion, pointing out that it would be a waste of resources for one to pay four point five million naira and go to Saudi Arabia without having the basic knowledge to perform the exercise.

While calling on them to accord the programme all the necessary attention it deserves, the Executive Secretary assured them of the board’s readiness to ensure their welfare, urging the pilgrims to always be of good conduct as they prepare for the Hajj exercise.

He then called on women pilgrims to obey the rules of engagement, emphasizing that pregnant women are not allowed to be part of those performing the exercise and commended the preachers for their doggedness in imparting sound knowledge to the pilgrims.

The Executive Secretary who reiterated the need for all intending pilgrims to complete their payment of four point five million naira latest by Wednesday 31st January 2024, equally charged them to be patient with every challenge they might encounter in the course of the exercise as it is an act of worship.

On his part, Chief Preacher of the enlightenment programme, Malam Abdullahi Limamin Gabas, who appreciated the board for doing the needful, charged the pilgrims to take advantage of the programme to learn the basics just as he expressed sadness over the nonchalant attitude shown by some pilgrims towards the exercise, calling on them to have a rethink.
