Lawmaker Donates Hospital Items in Awe
More than one hundred mattresses, bedsheets and mosquito nets have been donated to the Awe Local Government General Hospital and some primary healthcare facilities across the area.
The donation was made by the Member representing Awe North Constituency in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hudu A. Hudu, as part of efforts to improve healthcare delivery and the welfare of patients in the constituency.
Speaking during the presentation at the Awe General Hospital, Hudu said the intervention was part of his broader efforts to strengthen the health sector and improve the living conditions of his constituents.
He said investing in the health and well-being of the people remained essential to building a productive population, assuring residents that more development-oriented interventions were being planned.
The lawmaker also appealed to the management of the beneficiary health facilities to ensure that the donated items are used strictly for their intended purposes.
The Medical Officer-in-Charge of the hospital, Dr. Ezekiel Photo, commended the lawmaker for prioritising healthcare, saying the donation would contribute significantly to improving the condition of patients and healthcare delivery.
Also speaking, the Local Government Council, represented by its Secretary, Ismaila Inusa, and the APC Chairman in Awe Local Government Area, Shuaibu Idris, praised Hudu for what they described as impactful interventions.
They said the gesture would help ease some of the challenges facing residents and expressed their continued support for the lawmaker.
The event also featured the presentation of the donated items and the handover of solar lighting systems to the General Hospital, facilitated by the Chairman of Awe Local Government Area, Umar Tanko Dan-Akano.
