US Mission Issues Strict Warning on Visa Fraud
Official Warning: The United States Mission in Nigeria has issued a stern warning to visa applicants, advising them strongly against submitting forged, falsified, or misleading documents during their application process.
Escalation to Security Agencies: In an official post on its X (formerly Twitter) account as part of an ongoing public education campaign, the mission clarified that consular officers do much more than simply reject fraudulent applications. When false documents or security risks are detected, the cases and associated information are immediately escalated to relevant U.S. law enforcement and security agencies.
National Security Measures: The mission underscored that intelligence and information uncovered during visa vetting are actively shared to prevent criminals and other potential security threats from entering the United States.
