NAGIS Generates Over N2bn In Nine Months
Over two billion naira has been generated by the Nasarawa Geographic Information Service (NAGIS) between January and September this year.
This was disclosed by Governor Abdullahi Sule while chairing a meeting of the Nasarawa State Enabling Business Environment Council.
Welcoming members of the Nasarawa State Enabling Business Environment Council to the meeting, the Chairman of the Council, Governor Abdullahi Sule, underscored the contributions of relevant ministries, departments and agencies to decisions that enhance business activities and promote reliable investment outcomes.
The meeting, which is part of the transparent nature of the Engineer Abdullahi Sule-led administration, featured discussions on projects under urban renewal and slum upgrading, particularly as they relate to street naming, road construction and maintenance.
As a platform that discusses major decisions aimed at enhancing the enabling business environment, the meeting also considered the input of the grievance redress portal under NASIDA, as well as the infrastructure fund.
Also discussed were the reforms to be implemented for the 2026 deliverables under the enabling business environment council, including systematic land tenure registration, development of a standard operating procedure and the collection of government taxes, as enunciated by the Managing Director of NASIDA, Barrister Ibrahim Abdullahi.
His submission received the nod of the State Commissioner of Environment, Mining and Solid Minerals, Princess Margaret Elayo, and the Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State, Dr. Shuaibu Labaran Magaji, SAN, among other members of the Enabling Business Environment Council.
During the meeting, Governor Sule also brought before members of the council a proposal for some projects, including the construction of a two-kilometre road in Barekete Family Estate, where Nasarawa State is expected to take 30 percent of the houses upon completion.
The proposal also included the upgrade of the Karu Bus Terminal, which will gulp nine hundred and eighty-three million naira, as well as the provision of four hundred kilowatts of electricity for Nasarawa Broadcasting Service.
Also contained in the proposal is the construction of the one-kilometre Abdullahi Adamu-Tomato Market Road, among other roads in Toto and Karu, while five billion naira is to be injected into the equipping of the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital in Akwanga.
